2 weeks in Germany before traveling to France
After the longest layover of my life, I boarded the plane to Frankfurt shortly after 8pm. Unfortunately, I was stuck behind a really really loud family from New Jersey, but I was able to get some sleep. Once I got to Frankfurt I took a train to Bamberg, it was so pretty. Beautiful green hills every where. Sam was there to meet me at the train station. One of his classes is taught in English, so I joined him, Chad, and Traci. Then I had my first donner! So good. Later that night, we met up with some French guys and had really good cheese and potatoes. It was a great day!
On Wednesday we went to a club for a so called “7 nations party.” We didn’t stay too late. The next night a fellow group of Americans cooked an old fashioned US meal for some Italian students. We made BBQ chicken wings and cheeseburgers. Shame the grill didn’t work out, but we were able to work our magic in one of the kitchens. My first cheeseburger in 9 months! Friday night I ate some of the best pizza at a place called Pizza Sabina. My pizza had ham, mushrooms, spinach, ricotta cheese, and black olives. After dinner I was feeling very European, so I had to try a capaccino, and I’m glad I did! The meal was finished with tirimisu for dessert. We layed low that night and watched Bottle Rocket. Saturday afternoon was the BBQ- beach volleyball, beer, and company from all over the world. I haven’t been here long, but being here just reinforces my beliefs in experiencial education. Can’t wait to learn more. Oh, and we watched the football game last night- Milan won!!!
Bamberg I miss you already! I will be back soon. Pictures are up on Facebook now!
